IT's A SITE THATS HELPS PEOPLE IN NEED -


We want to create a web page, where people can give away things, which they don’t need anymore (like old furniture, CDs…). So the layout will be similar to a shop or auction site. Users can browse through different categories and search for an item, but instead of buying it they apply with a short text message to get it for free. The giver can than decide who gets the item.
You can use existing scripts, CMS or other software, as long as there are no copyright issues.
We think of a site very similar to GAF concerning functionality, but we don’t need any payment functions because everything will be for free.
Design work will be done by ourselves.
Work shall be done using php and mysql.

Requirements:
-The ability for US to create a clone of site in another language

User registration:
– user registration with user name/password
– users have to enter email address
– Email verification
admin functions:
– search for a user by user name
– view user details
– freeze a user account
– delete an item
– send a message to a user
An item consists of :
– a description
– optionally a picture
– a region where the item is located (selected through a drop down
menu)
– a date ‘valid until’
– the item is assigned to a category/subcategory (drop down menu)
Finding items:
– Visitors can browse through categories/subcategories
– Visitors can search by a keyword
– displayed results can further be filtered by region.
Getting the item
– Registered users can apply for a item, by pressing a button and
entering a short text message to the giver
– Registered users can write a text message to the giver
– Giver can write a text message to possible receivers
– Givers can at anytime see a list of possible receivers and select a
winner
– if a receiver is selected, the offer will be closed.
– Users can see the rating of other users
– Givers can cancel an offer.
Rating:
– Givers and receivers can be rated by each other.
(positive/neutral/negative) after the receiver is selected
other things:
– users can get email notification of events
– Users can flag an offer as inappropriate (notification to admin)
– It must be possible to include ads like Google ads into the site
Design
– Design will be delivered by us, preferentially as smarty templates, but we are open to other suggestions
